Information We Collect

Bible Typing School collects minimal information necessary to provide our service:

• Account email address for authentication
• Learner profile names and optional ages
• Typing session data (WPM, accuracy, completion times, error counts)
• Progress through the curriculum
• Bible translation preference per account and learner profile

When you submit a message through our Contact page, we also collect your name, email address, message category, and message content in order to respond to your inquiry.

How We Use Your Information

We use collected information solely to:

• Provide and maintain the typing tutorial service
• Track learner progress through the curriculum
• Analyze aggregate typing performance trends to refine lesson difficulty and curriculum design
• Respond to contact form inquiries
• Process voluntary contributions through our payment provider

Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data. All passwords are stored using industry-standard secure hashing. Data is transmitted over secure HTTPS connections. We use Supabase for data storage with row-level security policies that ensure each user can only access their own data.

Third-Party Service Providers

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your data with advertisers or analytics providers. Bible Typing School has no advertising and no social features. We work with the following limited service providers who process data solely to deliver our service:

• Supabase — database hosting and user authentication. All account, profile, and session data is stored on Supabase infrastructure.
• Stripe — payment processing for voluntary contributions. When you make a contribution, Stripe processes your payment and we retain a record of the transaction (amount, date, and payment method last four digits) in our own database.
• hCaptcha — bot protection on our contact form. hCaptcha processes interaction data to verify you are human before your message is submitted. hCaptcha's own privacy policy governs their data practices.
• ActivePieces — contact form message routing. When you submit a contact form message, your name, email, category, and message are transmitted to ActivePieces to route your inquiry to the appropriate team member.

Each provider is contractually bound to handle data solely for the purpose of providing their respective service.

Data Retention

We retain your account and learner profile data for as long as your account remains active. Typing session records are retained indefinitely to support your progress history. Upon account deletion, all personal data — including account information, learner profiles, and typing records — is permanently removed from our systems.

Cookies

We use only essential cookies for authentication and session management. No tracking or advertising cookies are used. Please note that hCaptcha, used on our contact form, may set its own cookies as part of its bot protection service.

Children's Privacy

Bible Typing School is designed for families and educational use. Accounts are created and managed by adult users (parents or educators), who are responsible for all learner profiles they create under their account, including profiles for minors. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children under 13 — all data associated with child learner profiles is collected and managed through the responsible adult account holder.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data — contact us via our Contact page to request a summary of the data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate data — update your profile information directly in the application, or contact us for corrections you cannot make yourself
• Delete your account and all associated data — use the account deletion option in your Settings page, or contact us through our Contact page

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of Bible Typing School after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
